EMERGENCY AID FOR HURRICANE HARVEY VICTIMS

IT'S TIME FOR ACTION!!!

FROM THE DESK OF: DR. ETTA F. CARTER ~ SUPREME BASILEUS 2017-2021

August 31, 2017

Dear Sorors,

Three days ago I sent out an appeal for Prayers for Hurricane Harvey Victims. There is no doubt in my mind that our prayers were answered, mainly because as bad as things are, we are thankful for blessings known and unknown.  We have faith that circumstances will become better, because God answers the prayers of His children.

Now is the time for action.  I am calling on the Sorors of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., to support this Emergency Fund Appeal. We need to support relief efforts for our sisters and their families in the impacted areas.  Soror Sylvia Williams, Southwest Regional Director, has reached out to the chapters and has made personal contact with several sorors who have been evacuated from their homes in  Houston, Austin, Beaumont, Orange, and  Port Arthur.

We are aware that members have contributed to emergency aid through our national budget, however, this is a limited amount. Needs will be great because this is a natural disaster and there will be many requests to come. Sorors have called to request how they may support individually the needs of victims.

We are blessed to have the website of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. up online and that we are able to facilitate our giving in a more expeditious manner. There are several ways to donate to this Emergency Fund Appeal for Hurricane Harvey Victims:

  1. Through our website www.NSPDK.org - click on the DONATE NOW button below - it is also on the website home page. Enter requested major credit card or PAYPAL information and the amount of donation. This donation, which is tax deductible  will go directly into our National Treasury. All personal information is secure!!!  For additional security measures, the DONATE NOW button below will be available for a limited time and will only be open for donations from September 1, 2017 through October 30, 2017.

  2. You may write a personal check, made payable to NSPDK, Inc. with a notation in the Memo Section “Hurricane Emergency” for any designated amount.  Please mail this check to: NSPDK Tamiouchos, Post Office Box 763986, Dallas, TX 75376-3986

As a Note: Dr. Sylvia Williams, Southwest Regional Director, has asked the Southwest Region Sorors to commit to a $10 personal donation to help their regional sorors and families. This donation is to be sent to the Southwest Regional Tamiouchos.

All funds sent to National Headquarters will be distributed according to the needs of sorors and  the procedures developed and implemented by the National Emergency Aid Hurricane Harvey Task Force.

Sorors, we have always answered the call to help in times of need, through prayers, service, and funding.  Whatever the need ….WE respond, as during  previous catastrophic  natural disasters, i.e. the World Trade Center Destruction, Hurricane Katrina, and Water Contamination in Flint, MI.  We care and we will wrap our arms around those in need.

Thanks to a great team!

Be blessed.

MOVING NSPDK FORWARD…TOGETHER!
